Art Basel 2024: Miami’s New Luxury Condos Blur the Lines Between Real Estate and Fine Art

As Art Basel Miami Beach 2024 unfolds from December 6th to December 8th, the city once again becomes the epicenter of the global art world. But this year, Miami’s allure isn’t limited to its galleries and exhibitions. A new wave of luxury condominiums is turning heads, transforming the city’s skyline into a gallery of architectural masterpieces. With design-forward concepts that rival the works on display at Art Basel itself, these properties combine cutting-edge architecture with interiors that feel as curated as the finest art collections.

Here are three of Miami’s most artistic new residential developments, where real estate meets the ethos of Art Basel:

1. ELLE Residences Miami

A living testament to the phrase “design as art,” ELLE Residences Miami brings the iconic style of ELLE Decor to life. Created by The One Atelier, these 25-story luxury residences blend Parisian elegance with contemporary vibrancy. Think chevron-patterned flooring, bold geometric designs, and walls adorned with textured wallpaper that add dimension and intrigue. Curated in collaboration with ELLE Decor editors, the interiors feature standout pieces from top European designers and brands.

Located in the heart of Miami, ELLE Residences transforms everyday living into a gallery-like experience, blurring the boundaries between fine art and modern design. Developed by Vertical Developments and Urban Network Capital Group, the 180 turnkey units are a must-see for lovers of high design.

2. Surf Row Residences

Located in exclusive Surfside, Surf Row Residences offers a serene, design-driven oasis that pays homage to Miami’s coastal beauty and cultural heritage. Its architecture by Alfonso Jurado Architecture and Boris Pena Architects mimics natural forms, from wind-sculpted sand to waves. White facades nod to the city’s Art Deco traditions, while materials like coral stone and boardwalk-inspired tiles evoke the textures of the beach.

The 25 bespoke condominiums feature expansive layouts that seamlessly merge indoor and outdoor spaces with skylights, layered glass facades, and generous balconies. A unique collaboration with RH and customizable options through InteriorSelect allow residents to personalize their homes, capturing a balance between modern luxury and organic tranquility.

3. Dolce&Gabbana Residences Miami

The Dolce&Gabbana Residences Miami redefines opulence with its bold architectural statement. Designed in collaboration with Studio Sofield, the tower is capped with a bronze sculptural crown that punctuates the Miami skyline. Its facade—crafted from ivory travertine, matte black steel, and accented with gold and bronze—evokes the sophistication of Milanese mid-century design with the vibrant edge of Miami’s aesthetic.

Interiors, curated by Milan-based M2Atelier, bring Dolce&Gabbana’s signature Italian flair into every corner. Handmade details and luxurious materials create spaces that are as much about craftsmanship as they are about living. With a focus on bold design and unparalleled luxury, this development is a fitting tribute to the intersection of fashion, art, and architecture.

Why It Matters

Art Basel celebrates the power of creativity and design, and Miami’s luxury condos are proving that real estate can be an extension of that ethos. These developments are not merely places to live—they are immersive experiences that combine artistry, innovation, and the highest levels of craftsmanship.

Whether you’re attending Art Basel or simply exploring Miami’s growing skyline, these properties deserve a closer look. For those who appreciate the finer things, this fusion of real estate and art is the ultimate statement of luxury living.

To close out Miami Art Week, BACARDÍ made its return to the 305 to hold Rum Room: Miami – the third iteration of five national events curated by the BACARDÍ Rum Society, an exclusive group of distinguished celebrity rum enthusiasts and ambassadors. Grammy Award-winning producer and longtime brand collaborator Swizz Beatz helped BACARDÍ conceptualize and bring the Rum Room to life, and further educate consumers on the versatility of rum. The iconic rum brand took over Faena Forum in Miami Beach for the second year in a row – transforming it into a premium rum oasis, with dedicated rooms championing each of the aged rum expressions, comprised of BACARDÍ Añejo Cuatro, BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho and BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Diez.

Serving as a living, breathing world of rum, the BACARDÍ Rum Room created an evening of excitement and discovery that showcased the brand’s culture, diverse flavor profile and set the rum standard. As guests entered the space, they were whisked on a journey of rum exploration and guided from the downstairs Diez speakeasy, where guests were treated to an intimate Diez tasting experience in the Atrium of Faena Forum to the upstairs Ocho and Cuatro rooms featuring an array of cocktails and interactive rum components. For the first time ever – guests during the preview hour were treated to a tasting of the new BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Especial, aged 16 years under the Caribbean sun, and available exclusively at global travel retail.
