The renowned South Beach resort, home to an expansive collection of multi-medium works of art, brings together artists and experiences for unique activations that capture the spirit of Art Basel and Miami Beach.

As part of this year’s collective, Loews Miami Beach Hotel welcomes immersive action painter and movement artist, Annika Rhea as official Artist in Residence. Based in Brooklyn, Annika is the creator of BODY MEDIUM, a painting technique that utilizes the body in motion as a painting tool. Merging the worlds of visual art, performance art and film, she has worked with musicians and videographers worldwide to create her body of work. Annika performs at art fairs such as Bushwick Open Studios and Art With Me, and has exhibited work in Box Factory Gallery, Revelation Gallery and Bogart House.

From December 1-5, Annika Rhea will showcase her work throughout the property, in addition to performing her BODY MEDIUM immersive action painting on December 3 and 4 in the hotel’s main lobby.

As official host hotel for SCOPE Miami Beach, visitors will get a preview of what to expect at the fair with the iconic work of Colombian sculptor Rodrigo Sanchez.
