Stauning Whisky Cherry Danish Manhattan
2 oz. (50ml) Stauning Rye Whisky
3/4 oz. (20ml) Sweet vermouth
1/2 oz. (10ml) Cherry Heering liqueur
1 dash Angostura bitters
Preparation: Prepare a mixing glass and a cocktail glass (or a rocks glass if you prefer your Manhattan on the rocks). If you're serving up, chill the cocktail glass by filling it with ice and setting it aside. Mix: In the mixing glass, combine the Stauning Rye whisky, sweet vermouth, Cherry Heering, and Angostura bitters. Stir: Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently for about 20-30 seconds. This will chill and dilute the mixture slightly. Serve: Strain the mixture from the mixing glass into the cocktail glass. If you're using a rocks glass with ice, strain over the ice. Garnish (optional): Consider garnishing with a cherry or a twist of orange or lemon peel for a classic touch.
