Upper West Side’s Last Condo Conversion Unveils First Completed Residence
393 West End Avenue, the storied Prewar building that merges old-world charm with contemporary comforts and represents what is likely the last condominium conversion to come to market on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, has unveiled its first completed residence.

Designed by Crystal Sinclair of New York-based Crystal Sinclair Designs, the 2,435-square-foot, 4-bed, 4-bath residence is currently on the market for $6.13 million. The home invokes the carefree spirit of the 1970s, incorporating an array of geometric shapes, warm tones and predominantly vintage finds. Taking the converted building’s Prewar bones into consideration, Sinclair infused the residence with a perfectly-juxtaposed collection of vintage, contemporary and bespoke furnishings. She also took the unique approach of covering the ceilings with thoughtful colors and vibrant patterns as an overarching design theme, spotlighting them as works of art throughout the home.
Situated within the landmark West End Collegiate Historic District, 393 West End Avenue was originally designed by architects Goldner & Goldner and constructed in 1927. It features Collegiate Gothic architecture and original 1920s details that are being skillfully preserved by award-winning architecture and interior design firm, CetraRuddy. Sales for the building, which is developed by Rabina, commenced in April 2022, led by Louise Phillips Forbes of The Louise Phillips Forbes Team at Brown Harris Stevens.
