Brown Harris Stevens, is expanding to Fire Island with the addition of top agent Glenn Rice. For more than 23 years, Mr. Rice has worked at some of New York City’s largest real estate firms before launching his own independent brokerage service. He has lived and worked on Fire Island for the past four years.

“Fire Island is a natural extension of our Hamptons operation because as oceanside, largely seasonal communities, they both cater to similar buyers, sellers, renters, and lifestyles,” said Executive Sales Director Robert Nelson who oversees Brown Harris Stevens’ Hamptons sales offices alongside Philip O’Connell. “Glenn has the local knowledge and vast network to provide an exceptional real estate experience across Fire Island’s many unique locations.”

While Mr. Rice will be based out of The Pines, Brown Harris Stevens plans to bring on more agents in various towns across the approximately 32-miles long barrier island.

“I am thrilled to bring the Brown Harris Stevens brand to Fire Island where there is a real need for an established real estate company with local, national, and global reach,” said Mr. Rice. “Fire Island is such a welcoming place - and I believe undervalued as far as real estate goes. Homes right on the beach are a fraction of what you’d pay on the mainland and points east.”

Brown Harris Stevens’ expansion to Fire Island comes on the heels of the firm’s new Rhinebeck office opening  in New York’s Hudson Valley.

Brown Harris Stevens, one of the country’s largest privately owned real estate brokerages, has announced its agent award recipients recognized for outstanding production companywide and by region in 2020.  This marks the first awards ceremony since Brown Harris Stevens restructured to incorporate Halstead and celebrated both incoming and legacy Brown Harris Stevens agents.

Due to Covid safety protocols, the interactive web-based ceremony was produced entirely in-house by the Brown Harris Stevens marketing team in conjunction with BrandLive. The event also featured remarks by Terra Holdings Co-Chairmen William Zeckendorf and David Burris as well as Brown Harris Stevens COO Alan Kersner.

Headlining the ceremony was special guest speaker Amy Purdy,  a celebrated Paralympic athlete, author, and renowned motivational speaker. Musical accompaniment was courtesy of a motivational Spotify list curated by Freedman herself with selections ranging from Broadway tunes to Hip-hop. BHS employees were also recognized for their hard work during the pandemic with a "night out on BHS" gift card to GrubHub.

“The 2020 Awards ceremony was the first time we truly celebrated together as one company and really showcased the depth of talent and breadth of our reach.
