Moving into the fall season, many of us are beginning to start planning long weekend trips. From beaches to countrysides, there are a seemingly infinite amount of options, which only makes choosing a spot more difficult. For that reason, here are a few of our favorite places to vacation that are only a few hours from the city.
Where should you travel this Fall?
Nantucket, MA
This cute city is home to cute cobblestone streets and stunning views. It’s known for its famous lighthouses and fantastic food. Every bit of Nantucket is bike accessible, making it easy for families and people that love to pack their day with boutiques, markets and Instagramable sunsets. The island just off Cape Cod is located right on the water, so you may want to bring a sweater or too. But, nonetheless, it’s one of our favorite long weekend locations near the city.
The Catskills, NY
Catskills is a wooded escape is fully stocked with charming restaurants and inns that feel like home. Given its location, the fall is the perfect time to kick back, relax, and watch the leaves change color. The area offers a range of lodging options, depending on what you’re looking for, from secluded and quiet to booming and in the center of town. Their known for their plentiful hiking trails, making the spot the perfect vacation place for outdoorsy people.

Pittsburgh, PA
Complete with swanky dining options and an abundant amount of things to do, Pittsburgh is an option that can work for anybody. The booming city sports an impressive amount of unique options, from hip new vintage stores to art museums to the zoo. Their climate is fairly similar to that of the city, so be sure to dress warm!

Dennis, MA
Situated within driving distance of major Northeast cities like NYC, Boston, and Providence, Cape Cod is an easy and beautiful spot for a fall weekend getaway.
