Read MoreIt’s common to feel like you’re looking older. Sometimes this might be caused by stress, and this might be causing you to age faster than you should be. Excess levels of stress have been shown to age the skin quite dramatically. But, the good news is that there are some easy ways that you can make yourself look ten years younger, and we’ve got some of them listed below.
One way to make yourself look younger is to get a makeover. You can go to a professional to do this for you, and they will be able to take those years off you in no time. You can also get them to show you what they used and how they did it so that you can continue using this method in your day to day life.
You might not think that makeup is something that you want to use, but it is one of the easiest ways to make yourself look younger. If you are worried about the chemicals that are used in certain makeups, there are many brands who offer organic makeup so as not to damage your skin further. Speak to a professional about this, and they will be able to advise you on which brands are best if this is something that you feel strongly about.
There are many different types of spas that offer a wide variety of treatments, depending on what you are looking for. For example, some spas offer non-surgical cosmetic dermatology treatment which will make those years melt away. These treatments can include wrinkle relaxers, coolsculpting, volumizers, and so many more options. Alternatively, some spas offer other treatments such as seaweed wraps and facials.
Going to a spa is a great way to relax and treat yourself. Giving yourself this treat is a sure way to make yourself smile, and you know what they say, you are never more beautiful than when you are smiling.
Sleep is vital for the body to work at optimum levels. But, you might not know that sleep is important for your skin too. One of the things that you might be noticing is that your skin is looking tired and this can lead to you looking older than you are. There’s an easy way to combat this though. You just need to be getting enough sleep each night. It is recommended that you try to sleep for 8 uninterrupted hours each night.
That means leave your phone outside of your room and get the rest that your body needs. Your body needs to be able to sleep without constant interruptions. It has been shown that if you leave your electronic devices outside of your room, you will have a better chance of getting uninterrupted sleep.
We hope that you have found this advice on how to look 10 years younger helpful and will consider using one of these options to aid you on your journey. You should always remember though, that getting older is a part of life and something we should embrace.
The aging of facial skin is a complex subject, and one that is subject to a huge amount of discussion and differing opinions. When discussing the appearance of facial skin, the majority of the talk is centered around improving the look of your skin, with various products and remedies promising the ability to override the passage of time and restore youthful skin in a heartbeat. Is this, however, the discussion that we should be having?
After all, if an old saying is to be believed, isn’t prevention better than cure? We have all heard this phrase over and over again, yet when it comes to our facial skin, we focus on improving the problems that are already in existence, with prevention only occasionally mentioned as a side benefit. It therefore seems worth examining whether the focus has been on the wrong point all along, and asking if there is any way of preventing facial skin from aging before it becomes problematic.
Can facial skin aging be prevented?
Well… it’s complicated.
It’s tempting to answer “no” to this question because, realistically, skin is always going to age. The reason that crow’s feet, fine lines, and wrinkles develop is based on the way that collagen production falls as we age; as a result, some signs of facial aging are always inevitable.
So is that it, debate settled, all facial skincare should focus on rectifying existing problems, prevention doesn’t work?
Not quite.
Focusing on preventing substantial aging
Fine lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet are not binary; they do not either “exist” or “not exist”. They have levels of severity. Some people experience very deep, pronounced wrinkles, especially as they reach their 70s and 80s, while others will experience very mild lines that are barely visible to the naked eye.
It’s the severity of facial skin aging that all experts suggest can genuinely benefit from prevention and types of facials technique. While we’ll all inevitably experience some signs of aging, we can at least diminish how obvious those signs are.
How can you prevent significant signs of aging on facial skin?
We have mentioned that one of the primary causes of facial skin aging is the natural depletion of collagen everyone experiences as they age, but this collagen can be somewhat replenished via supplementation.
Odd as it may sound, given that this treatment is almost always described as a cure rather than a preventative method, botox is actually incredibly useful for preventing aging. It relaxes relevant facial muscles, which helps to prevent lines and wrinkles becoming particularly pronounced. If you’re curious to find out more, it’s well worth searching for clinics that practice Botox near you for further advice.
Another prominent method to help preempt the noticeable effects of aging is the use of dermal fillers, which can restore facial volume and improve elasticity. These injectable treatments contain substances like hyaluronic acid that provide immediate results by smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines. If you're in the Big Apple and interested in exploring this option, researching wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers in New York can provide you with a wealth of experienced practitioners. Dermal fillers are often combined with other preventative measures to create a comprehensive defense against the visible signs of aging.
Sun exposure is one of the leading causes of deep lines, crow’s feet, and wrinkles, so it can be beneficial to get into the habit of using SPF every single day - even if it’s cloudy outside.
The majority of sleep lines will disappear over the course of the day, but some may linger and become wrinkles over time. It’s therefore beneficial to explore ways of preventing sleep lines from becoming permanent, and to try and sleep in different positions to assist this.
In conclusion
It is inevitable that your skin will age, and no prevention can give you the skin of a 20-year-old on your 35th birthday. However, there is something to be said for preventing significant signs of aging, and if you follow the tips above, you should be able to hold time’s ravages at bay for as long as possible.

You know the rule, and if you don’t, we’re here to dole out some serious skincare truths and the first one is – change of seasons calls for a change of your skincare arsenal. So, hurry up, finish off those summer go-to products so they don’t go to waste and get ready to spice things up – fall skincare style. The slightly harsher weather calls for some serious changes so stay tuned as we guide you through the skincare maze in order to welcome the golden season (with hopefully a few days of that magical Indian summer) looking fresh, rejuvenated, and ready for anything this period throws at you.
Fun in the sun is fun indeed, but excessive sun exposure, a crime we’re all guilty of, can and usually does take a toll on the skin, making it patchy, dry, and at times even leathery. So, before you do anything else, it’s time you did some repair work and eradicated the damage the sun may have caused. This is where two little miracles come to play – exfoliation and facial serums. By exfoliating your skin regularly – two to three times a week - you will have removed the dead skin cells caused by dehydration and sun, and will have revealed a glowing clean complexion that is ready for subsequent pampering. In case you have more serious sun damage, investing in a high-quality serum that targets this particular issue is the smartest thing you can do, as sun damage can have long term consequences if not addressed in a timely manner.
In this case Rome is exfoliation and, as caring for your skin shouldn’t end with the face, it’s time to spruce up and rejuvenate the entire body. One of the whole-body pampering trends that has spiked in popularity is actually the ancient art of dry brushing. Not only does it help remove dead skin cells, but fosters better blood flow and helps eliminate cellulite; not to mention that it has the power to soothe your body from within, so make sure you snag a good brush and learn how to do this ritual properly.
When it comes to choosing products such as cleansers, toners and moisturizers, it’s always best to go with those coming from the same line. Skincare lines are carefully designed to work together in the right order and bring you the optimal level of cleanliness and much needed moisture, as harsher weather will call for reinforcement in the moisturizing department. So, choose your products wisely and stick to the best skincare regimen and you’ll have nothing to worry about. Of course, when choosing, make sure you take your skin type and possible issues (acne, discoloration or anything else) into account as this is what perhaps matters most when we talk about effectiveness.
We often neglect our lips, it’s time to admit that. Yes, yes, we did have fun with matte lipsticks and will probably continue to do so in the time to come, especially when we switch to darker berry and chocolaty hues, but we mustn’t forget to nourish our lips in preparation for the fall, during fall and well into winter. The harsh weather will leave you with dry chapped and not at all kissable lips, so go for something deeply nourishing that will also rejuvenated your lips too.
The shiny and glitter-loaded body lotions were definitely one of summer’s top hits as the entire season was marked by the pursuit of the glow, but as amazing as they look, these lotions are more decorative than nourishing. Therefore, it’s time to switch to something thicker, buttery and deeply nourishing. Think in terms of Shea butters, rich and rejuvenating coconut. Search for local handcrafted brands that have incredibly powerful body butters in a variety of scents, so take your pick according to your scent preferences, but always keep protection and nourishment in mind.
Another product we tend to leave on the bench during summer is a really good hand cream. Just as the lips, dry, cracked hands are not only un-alluring but can actually be quite painful, so snag the best hand cream you can get your hands on. Moreover, just like the lip balm, always keep it in your bag because these are the two products that you’ll be applying at least five times a day so it’s vital to always keep them in close vicinity.
Not that hard, right – a little exfoliation, some new goodies; preparing for the fall has never sounded more appealing, you have to admit it. We know you can’t wait to get your hands on these fall skincare goodies, so now that our work is done, we’ll leave you to it.

Now that summer is finally here, it’s time to take walks on the beach, lounge about by the pool, have picnics in the park, and show off all of the summer clothes you’ve been dying to take out of the closet since last year. It’s a time to have fun, but throughout all of this excitement and relaxation, you can afford to neglect your skin. The warm and humid weather means that your skin doesn’t feel itchy or dry like in winter, but that doesn’t mean that you can be lazy about your skin care. In fact, you have to be even more careful. Here are seven tips to help you take care of your skin this summer.
Exfoliate Twice A Week
Your body sheds skin cells every minute of every day, and, if you don’t do something to get rid of them, they’ll simply sit on the surface of your skin, making it appear dry, rough, and dull. Because of this, it’s important that you exfoliate your entire body twice a week. This will remove these dead cells, allowing the healthy skin underneath to shine through. Make sure that you use gentle and natural exfoliators, as harsh acidic ones can cause a lot of irritation.
Moisturizer Is A Must
Your skin might not feel so dry throughout the summer, but it’s still important that you moisturize every single day. After all, moisturizers work with constant use, just like exercise and a healthy diet does. If needed, however, you can find yourself one that is more lightweight. Moisturiser is even more important if you happen to get a sunburn. Applying lotion to burned areas will help to keep it hydrated and soothe any discomfort or irritation you may be feeling.
Wear Sunscreen Every Day
However hot or sunny it may be, it’s vital that you wear sunscreen every time you leave the house, even on cloudy days. This will protect you from the sun’s ultraviolet rays, which can cause sunburn and crepey skin. If you’re wondering what is crepey skin, it’s skin with a rough and crepe-like texture, like on your elbow. Ensure you choose a sunscreen with high protection, and make sure you reapply every ninety minutes and always after you have been swimming.
Limit Your Sun Exposure
While sunscreen does offer some protection, it can only do so much. Because of this, you should try to limit your sun exposure, especially between ten in the morning and two in the afternoon, as this is when the sun is at its peak. If and when you do go out, you should wear clothes that cover up your skin, like long skirts, pants, and sleeves. You should also wear a wide-brimmed hat to shade your face and ears.
Drink Plenty Of Water
Drinking water is crucial no matter the time of year, but throughout summer it’s even more important. After all, it keeps your body hydrated and prevents the nasty effects of dehydration. It also helps to keep your skin hydrated and flushes out any toxins that could make you sick or damage your skin. Because of this, you need to make sure that you always have water with you and that you drink it whenever you’re thirsty. You should also avoid any caffeinated drinks.
Don’t Skimp On Sleep
With the warm weather and long days, it’s often difficult to get enough sleep throughout the summer. However, lack of sleep can lead to stress and increased levels of stress hormones, which can slow down the production of collagen in your skin. This means you need to do what you can to ensure you sleep well each night. Of course, heat and light are going to be two of your biggest problems, so consider investing in blackout blinds and a quiet fan for your room.
Opt For Minimal Makeup
With the heat and humidity, it’s usually best to avoid heavy makeup throughout the summer. After all, the combination of sweat, oil, and creamy products is a lot for your skin to handle, and will likely result in clogged pores and breakouts. Instead, you should stick to light creams and powders, as these will feel less smothering. Remember that, if you plan to use foundation, your skin may have tanned, so you might need to grab a different shade or use a color corrector.
The summer months are filled with lazy days, but you can’t afford to be lazy with your skin care. If you want to keep your skin healthy and glowing all summer long, remember the tips above.

It’s officially the year of the skin. Yes, makeup is great and playful, but the emphasis on healthy skincare has never been bigger. The number of great skincare product launches could make your head spin, and there are even tons of articles on the types of food that your skin can greatly benefit from. Yes, there are tons of advice for getting that perfect smooth complexion, but we’re going to stick to five simple and effective ones that will get your skin where it needs to go.
If due to sun exposure, lack of hydration you’ve ended up with dull and lifeless skin that has even begun to show signs of aging, there are several courses of action to take. First of all, if you’ve been forgetting to include sunscreen into your skincare routine, rectify that mistake as soon as possible. Those UVA and UVB rays are unforgiving, so precautions must be taken if your skin has any chance of recovery. In addition to that, try to stay away from the sun as much as possible – that is a rule Japanese women follow to the letter and they look 20 years younger than all of us, so we might as well follow suit. Finally, do un-dull the skin and begin to restore its smoothness and shine, make it your goal to take vitamin A regularly. You can resort to topical solutions, but they can be quite strong and even counter-effective for certain skin types, so it’s best to find a supplement or load up on vitamin A rich foods instead, at least in the beginning. Let’s move on to rule number two.
Instead of roaming around drugstore counters picking up products you just assume will give you the result you need, you need to sit down, do your research and find out what exactly your skin type and concerns are. There are numerous skincare brands, one of them being the incredible Rodan and Fields, offer personalized skincare regimen and proper products, and with a simple click of a button here, you can finally get the skinny on what your skin craves and finally provide it for it.
Skincare involves using a series of products or treatments to get glowy and healthy skin. So. besides identifying what products work for you, you should also invest in knowing what treatments are excellent for your skin.
Skin treatment involves getting botox injection, chemical peel, laser skin resurfacing, dermabrasion, microdermabrasion, derma fillers, light therapy, and many others! These skin treatments aim at treating specific skin conditions for those people who have used various products with no results.
Finding out what works for you is significant, as some people may choose to get a chemical peel, whereas some prefer a botox injection. Some may consider getting a Botox London Professional Aesthetics procedure for anti-aging purposes and to smooth the appearance of their skin, whereas others may find it beneficial for cosmetic corrections such as lifting the corners of the mouth and tightening this area of the face. Knowing how much and how often to use a treatment or go for a procedure is key when it comes to skincare.
Finding what works for you in terms of products and skin treatments can help you save money and time in the long run.
Alcohol, in all forms, is simply bad for your skin. According to skin expert Michaella Bolder “Alcohol is a toxin (…) impacting the quality, appearance and ageing of your skin. Alcohol is also a diuretic, so you can lose plenty of skin cell-loving water from the body quite rapidly, leaving your skin dehydrated and dull. So, aside from avoiding alcohol as much as you possibly can, you must read the labels on cleansers and toners and even foundations carefully. Many of them contain alcohol, which dries out the skin almost instantly, and the condition worsens the longer you use it. This again brings us to rule number two – leave it to experts to determine and provide the right solutions for you so you don’t ruin your skin with uninformed purchases.
One of the greatest obstacles standing between you and a smooth glowing complexion are clogged pores and flaky skin. This usually comes as a result of either piling too much makeup and not cleansing your face properly at the end of the day or the fact that you’ve let the importance of exfoliation completely slip your mind. Exfoliation is essential to smooth skin as this skincare step removes the dead cells completely and allows your skin to breathe. Aside from that, it fosters faster cellular renewal and production, and preps the skin for the products you apply after you’re done exfoliating. Now, some would say that daily exfoliation is a must, but there is such a thing as too much. You need to give the skin time to actually ‘develop’ dead skins in order to remove them. Overzealous exfoliation can irritate the skin, strip it of its natural oils and actually make matters worse. So, the final verdict on exfoliation – definitely yes, but only three times a week.
You can have the best skincare custom-made for your skin type, but the smoothness and radiance you crave will still be at large if you don’t learn two important lessons. The first one is layering your skincare products in the right order. This is paramount as each product plays a role and it needs to make an appearance at just the right time. The second lesson is diligence. You can’t be responsible when it comes to your routine one day and then skip two or three days – that’s just not how the cookie crumbles. You have to have an established daytime and nighttime routine and never skip it no matter what.
Now that you’re in the know, there is only one thing to do. Remember these rules, follow them to the letter and you’ll see results that have been missing before you know it.
Adult acne is a condition that plagues 40 to 55 percent of 20 to 40-year-olds in the US - it’s far more common than you would think. While there are plenty of resources available for how to treat adult acne and what steps you need to take to ‘say goodbye to adult acne’, there are very few resources for what you should be doing once you’ve won the war against this irritating skin condition.
