The Dime Host the Ceremony For Nathan's 4th of July HOT Dog-eating contest
On Friday, July 3rd, The Dime, a contemporary, 23-story terra-cotta and glass tower in South Williamsburg, played host to Major League Eating as they conducted the official weigh-in ceremony for the 2020 Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest. Top eating champions Miki Sudo and Joey Chestnut were weighed-in and certified for the historic July 4 competition, where the two champions broke records – again!
The Dime’s expansive outdoor terrace offered a perfect backdrop for the weigh-in, with its panoramic and awe-inspiring skyline views including the Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center, The Williamsburg Bridge, and the harbors, rivers and highways that thread the city.
This year, the contest – which features an annual donation of 100,000 Nathan’s Famous hot dogs to the Food Bank for New York City – was dedicated to raising funds for food banks and to raising awareness of food bank needs.
Jointly developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Holdings, The Dime offers 177 extraordinary apartments with an abundance of lifestyle amenities, rooted into the creative and cultural fabric of one of New York City’s most vibrant neighborhoods. At the base of the tower, adjoining the historic bank building, is a five-story podium that accommodates office and retail space
