5 Ways To Celebrate National Bourbon Heritage Month

For all bourbon drinkers out there, September is a month you’ll be enjoying – it’s National Bourbon Heritage Month. To celebrate the holiday we’ve rounded up some ways to enjoy bourbon wether it’s at your favorite restaurant or in the comforts of your own home.

For those of you in New York and not able to make it to Kentucky we found some of the best bourbon based drinks you can have this month, or after any work day.

Makers Mark bourbon, homemade strawberry simple syrup, dashes of dark chocolate bitters, then stir and pour over Ice, garnish with candy strawberry.

Black Bourbon Smash
2 oz - Stillhouse Black Bourbon
¾ oz - Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz - Simple Syrup Mint Leaves
Directions: Combine fresh lemon juice and simple syrup in a collins glass. Muddle mint leaves. Add bourbon and crushed ice, stir. Garnish with mint.

2 oz - Stillhouse Black Bourbon
¾ oz - Fresh Lemon Juice
¾ oz - Honey Syrup
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with lemon.
