Ways To Lift Yourself Up From Bad Places
draWhen life gets tough, the tough get going. The saying can be interpreted in many ways but one of them might be the one that is the hidden gem. The word ‘going’ can mean getting tougher and being more physically and mentally resilient when life becomes a chore and hard. On the other hand, it could quite be a literal meaning. To get up and go, would mean leaving or heading somewhere. What if you’re in a bad place in your life, what do you do then? Take this literal meaning to heart and act upon it. Here are a few ways you can do so when you’re in certain predicaments.
A sour family life
There is something that the large majority of people get to learn and that’s the unfortunate circumstance of a bad family. We do go through experiences whereby we learn that friends change and we can fall out with them. However, all too often we put up with family members that are abusive to us. They could belittling, making you feel as if you are a disappointment and won’t amount to anything. They might be physically abusive while pretending to be joking. Narcissism is something you should study or read about as many toxic family members have this behavior trait. When you are at a point where every day with them becomes a stressful and enraging experience, it's time to pack up and leave. Find your own place and most of all, love yourself enough to not put up with abuse from them anymore just because they may be family.
A breeding ground for self-abuse
Addictions on the surface look like they’re selfish. You’re putting yourself in harm's way just to get a quick good feeling while potentially putting others around you in the same path. However, it's really just an outlet and an escape for pain. Something that could have happened to you in your life is still buried deep in your mind and the only way you think you can deal with it is by abusing substances. Misery does love company and so you’re going to be surrounded by people in the same lifestyle. So why don’t you just get up and go, remove yourself from this reckless environment? Well, it costs money to move and when you don’t have any or enough, you need a saving grace. A program like sober living housing is great for people who are battling addiction but don’t have the funds to truly make a big move in their life. Here you will be housed and given shelter, away from the environment where addiction is sadly enabled.
A rough work life
It's so common to put up with horrible treatment at work, because well, you don’t want to lose your job that pays for your life. However, even if you love what you do the company can be very disrespectful and abusive. The boss could be bad mannered, insulting and you could be forced to work rough hours and not be treated properly regarding holidays, healthcare and illness days etc. despite the money being okay and the love of your career, working somewhere like this kills your motivation and can obscure your vision in your own profession. It's best to start looking for another place to work and not tolerate this or else it could have a permanent effect on you.
Lift yourself up, move away from people and places that mean you no good. Realize that staying around like this will only plunge you deeper into a pit that you will have a hard time climbing out of.
