5 Popular Comedy Shows to Add to Your Calendar in 2022

Every year we look forward to new seasons of our old favorites and new dramas. Everyone talks about the new must-see shows for weeks.

Dramas like Game of Thrones have dominated the discussion for the past ten years, but 2022 has a great lineup of high-quality comedies.

We’re excited to see what the showrunners do with these fantastic concepts. 2022 is looking great already!

Peacemaker

Peacemaker is a spinoff from the Suicide Squad movie franchise created by James Gunn. It stars John Cena as a superhero so dedicated to peace that he’s willing to use force to make it happen.

The irony of using war to make peace sounds profound, but you can be sure that John Cena will make it fun. Besides, the Suicide Squad movies have been incredible. Who doesn’t want to dive back into the DC Universe for some of that?

How I Met Your Father

How I Met Your Father is a lighthearted comedy series about love, growing up, and a group of friends. It’s a nostalgic spinoff of How I Met Your Mother and one of 2022s most anticipated new shows.

How I Met Your Mother was the surprise hit of 2005 that went the distance, season after season. Now we’ll have an opportunity to see if the shoe fits the other foot.

The Boondocks

Boondocks was a classic comic strip that ran for 10 years before being made into an Adult Swim cartoon that ran for 55 episodes. Now Boondocks has been reimagined for 2022. The Boondocks pairs political criticism with an irreverent urban style.

Irreverent political cartoons have done very well over the years, especially when they tell classic stories. HBO has already committed to a two-season order, so this title has legs.

If you’re planning to see a comedy show, make sure to buy your tickets from a ticketing platform soon before they run out!

Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai

Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai is an animated series that serves as a prequel to the iconic 1980s movie. Set in 1920s China, this series reveals how the old grandpa met Gizmo as a young boy and tells the story of their misadventures.

Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai is perfect for the nostalgia culture of the 2020s. This movie was tailor-made for toy lines and is going to be even better as a cartoon.

She-Hulk

Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk was a standout star in the perfect MCU Avengers cast. Now we’ll see the adventures of his cousin Jennifer Walters as she struggles with her own inner Hulk.

She-Hulk’s transformation isn’t as dramatic as the Hulk, so the problems are different. While the Hulk is an outcast, She-Hulk has to balance her career and hulkiness.

The concept is fun, and the comic books are legendary. Mark Ruffalo comes back to co-star in She-Hulk, so this series has real power behind it. For fans of the MCU, this is going to be must-watch TV.
