Offline Projects, a premier New York City-based creative studio, today announced the June 2019 programming for INTERLUDE+, a popular music and art workshop series for and by LGBTQ+ community. INTERLUDE+ is part of New York Music Month: an initiative of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, in partnership with NY is Music, an organization dedicated to advancing the importance of music in economic development, culture and education in New York State.
An exciting lineup of respected LGBTQ+ musicians, artists, and industry leaders will join this years INTERLUDE+ workshops including: The Fader, True Laurels, Skyshaker, DJ Delish, Capital Kaos, Nunney Karma, Tygapaw, Debit, Splice, Kodie Shane and Le1F. Workshops run the gamut from a zine workshop in a hidden storefront to a vogue masterclass with top dancers to a music production class and more.
The workshops will be hosted in unique, non-traditional New York venues where Offline Projects creates site-specific installations for each program based on the space, artist, and curriculum. The artists design workshop curriculums and closely collaborate on the design of the space.
Locations include OnCanal, a district for new ideas on Canal Street of empty storefronts designed for artists, The Center in the West Village, Power Station Studios at BerkleeNYC, the legendary recording studio in a repurposed power relay center, and A/D/O, Brooklyn’s state-of-the-art design center and accelerator.
Continuing Offline Projects’ commitment to supporting emerging talent and curating accessible, one-of-a-kind experiences at the intersection of music and art, INTERLUDE+ is free and open to all ages. Space is limited, and interested participants can register here: https://interlude.offline-projects.com/
“INTERLUDE+ has been an incredible forum for creativity and connection in New York’s LGTBQ+ music community and we’re thrilled to partner with the Mayor’s office for the third year running,” notes Sienna Berritto, Executive Producer at Offline Projects. “We are thrilled to provide LGBTQ+ creatives the connections to artists they admire and identify with. We hope to continually strive to foster unique collaborations and hope this year’s workshop participants immerse themselves in our programming. Every Saturday is a new opportunity to have a memorable experience, get inspired, learn and make long-lasting connections.”
Offline Projects was named by New York Magazine in their “Best of New York” 2018 feature and has produced acclaimed music & art experiences. OP has spotlighted artists like NONOTAK, Hudson Mohawke, and Jacques Greene in unconventional New York City spaces like the Russian & Turkish Bathhouse and Salvation Army Day Care – and has creative directed campaigns for record labels and artists like 88 Rising, Top Dawg Entertainment, and GoldLink. Previous editions of INTERLUDE+ have featured top talent like Devonté Hynes drawing over 200 participants.
