Winona’s, the modern European restaurant-café and natural wine bar that opened its doors in November 2020, is officially opening its indoor dining space, known as the Backroom, for the first time on March 4.
The Backroom at Winona’s, which can be found at the end of a long hallway behind a mirrored door, has been there since 1910 and served as an old fixture store. The space features high ceilings and skylights with an open kitchen and opposite facing cocktail/wine bar. Greenery is scattered throughout to give the dining room a natural and earthy vibe.
The inaugural menu will rotate based on market availability, but includes staple dishes such as:
Lamb Meatballs with harissa tomato sauce, feta, labne and cilantro, served with grilled flatbread
Xixo’s Tortilla Espanola served with a crostini and piquillo pepper aioli
Scotch Egg with mustard and cornichons
Winona’s will continue its Chef Residency pop-up program, as well as their wine consultation program via Instagram. The current menu can be found here, and reservations can be made via Resy.
