What To Eat At The Times Square Edition
Times Square EDITION has become a new haven for New Yorkers and visitors alike to escape the energy and chaos of Times Square to relax and indulge in some food, drinks and entertainment. EDITION is reimagining what public spaces in a hotel could and should be. EDITION has partnered with Ian Schrager and Michelin-starred Chef John Fraser to helm all of the food and beverage outlets at the area’s first luxury hotel. The hotel offers four distinct dining experiences split over four floors with indoor and outdoor spaces and multiple dining options all under one roof. The fine-dining signature restaurant, 701West, The Terrace at EDITION and Outdoor Gardens, a modern all-day New York restaurant, Paradise Club, a cabaret and performance space and The Lobby Bar, an oasis of expertly crafted cocktails and an impeccable wine list for your enjoyment.
701 West
Located on the 11th floor of the hotel, 701West is The Times Square EDITION’s signature fine-dining option, featuring an outdoor terrace that captures the energy of Times Square eleven stories below. 701West guests are transported into their own kind of dinner theater with table-side preparations and a Champagne trolley with premium sparkling selections that offer interactive elements during service. Some dishes featured on the three-course prix fixe menu include the Hokkaido Sea urchin risotto presented in its own shell and Baked Sweet Potato in Seaweed Bread that are complemented by a dessert program of Orange-Saffron Panna Cotta, Buckwheat Puff Pastry and an after-dinner cheese and Calvados cart featuring 1932, ’59 and ’72 vintages. The wine list includes a collection of over 500 global bottles of wines. Some cocktails that are featured at 701West are, Tokyo Gibson with gin, dry vermouth and blueberry-sesame shrub and Foreign Affairs, an Old-Fashioned variation with shiitake mushroom-infused Bourbon and a truffled peach garnish.
Paradise Club
An avant-garde cabaret curated by the House of Yes, the Paradise Club is the place to be when in Times Square that allows you to enjoy the chaotic, high-energy atmosphere that perfectly suits the energy of Times Square. The menu at Paradise Club is an extension of the inventive, spectacle show perfectly suited for Times Square. The multisensory, multi-course feast, mirrors the playful elements of performances by pairing offerings with the venue’s robust technology, allowing for an all-consuming, multi-sensory experience. Dishes such as Sweet Corn and Truffle Lingerie, Fried Chicken and Peppered Strawberries and Wagyu Hot Rock. Some featuring cocktails available are a Manhattan trolley for customized versions of the classic drink, a Piña Colada-inspired Old-Fashioned, the Studio 75 Champagne cocktail with Krug and large format drinks that are designed to be shared and become part of the cabaret experience. The Paradise Club is a “place with no formulas, rules or any specific structure” so that anyone and everyone can enjoy.
The Terrace at EDITION
The Terrace at EDITION and Outdoor Gardens is the hotel’s all-day dining destination that marries the foundations of classic cooking techniques from all around the world with a fresh approach. With menu items such as the Mushroom Carpaccio with fennel barigoule, house-made pastas, a vegan Carrot Bolognese with whole wheat lumache and a section of the menu dedicated to heirloom lettuces. The restaurant also features exuberant cocktails such as Speed the Plow which is with Pisco, egg white, hibiscus and chamomile which makes it only one of nearly a dozen cocktail selections named after timeless Broadway shows.
Lobby Bar
Lobby Bar, a series of black and white spaces, features an unfussy and elegant approach to bar fare and taking it to a new level. The cocktail menu offers drinks such as the Pretty Hot with tequila, mezcal, jalapeño, mango, lime and agave as well as low-ABV spritzes including Kooler Kids with basil, lemon, aloe vera and gentian. A selection of exclusively domestic wines, many from New York State, are also available to be enjoyed with unparalleled views of Times Square from several outdoor terraces.
