How To Celebrate LBGT In NYC 2022
Happy Pride Month! If you’re in New York City, or one the millions visiting you will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, which were the 1969 riots that kickstarted the LGBTQ rights movement.
We couldn’t be happier to celebrate the holiday and have roundup just a few of our favorite LBGTQ things going on for Pride. Use this as you’re guide on how to celebrate the community and get more involved.
While visiting the city you won’t (and it’ll be hard to) miss the NYC Pride March. The March is a celebration of our lives and our community. In 2018, we were joined by over 550 unique marching contingents, representing a vast array of non-profits, community organizations, corporate sponsors, small businesses, political candidates and activists! With over 100 floats making the trek along the route, last year's March was one of the largest and most exciting in history. The march begins at noon and starts at 26th Street & 5th Ave.
If you want to learn more about NYC LGBT historical sites, luckily for you, there are walking tours just for that. This is the first initiative to document historical and cultural sites associated with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community in the five boroughs. Sites illustrate the richness of the city’s LGBT history and the community’s influence on America. Explore the map below, view our curated themes or browse an index of all of our sites.
