Cocktails You'll Want To Have On National Tequila Day

After cinco de mayo some people can be tequila’d out and switch over to wine for the Summer, but who doesn’t love a refreshing cocktail to cool themselves off during this hott Summer heat. To celebrate National Tequila Day, this July 24th, we’ve scoured for the best and innovative tequila based drinks that not only taste good, but will be perfect for the gram.

Old Fashioned

  • 2oz Espolòn Añejo

  • ½ part Agave Nectar

  • 1 dash of Angostura bitters

  • 1 dash of orange bitters

Build in an old-fashioned glass over one large ice cube. Garnish with an orange peel.

Perfect Paloma

  • 1.5 oz    PATRÓN Reposado

  • 2.75 oz Fresh grapefruit juice

  • .5 oz      Agave syrup (1:1)

  • .5 oz      Fresh-squeezed lime juice

  • 1 oz       Sparkling water

  • +            Sugar and salt for rimming

  • +            Grapefruit wedge for garnish

Combine all ingredients except sparkling water in a shaker tin and shake with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a sugar and salt rimmed collins glass. Top with sparkling water and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.


Watermelon Flecharita

  • 1 ½ oz Flecha Azul Blanco

  • 1 oz Agave Syrup

  • ½ oz Lime Juice

  • 4 oz Watermelon Cubes (Remove Seeds)

  • Chamoy and Tajin Rim

Combine Flecha Azul Blanco, agave syrup, lime juice, and watermelon cubs in a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a Chamoy and Tajin-rimmed rocks glass over one large ice cube. Garnish with a watermelon slice.


Montelobos Padre Lobo

  • 1.5 oz Mezcal Montelobos Tobalá

  • 0.75 oz Ancho Reyes

  • 0.75 oz Cynar Liquor

  • 1.5 oz Velvet Soda Royal Tonic

    Mix all ingredients with ice and serve it on a glass. Garnish with green lime

Ancho Reyes On The Rocks Verde

  • Serve Ancho Reyes Verde spicy liqueur over ice, in a votive glass.


Tropic Mendez

  • 1.5 oz Partida Reposado

  • .5 oz fresh lime juice

  • 1.5 oz pineapple juice

  • .25 oz simple syrup

  • 1 pinch of Salt

  • 2 dashes of celery bitters

  • Top with tonic water

    Add all ingredients to shaker. Shake and pour into sling glass over ice. Top with tonic water. Garnish with dehydrated pineapple chips, dehydrated lime and Tajin dust.
