The Easy Way to Have a Spa Day at Home

At home spa days might consist of you putting on a mud mask and perhaps painting your nails. While there is nothing wrong with pampering yourself at home with the supplies that you have available, if you really want to relax you have to transform your actual home. You may need to hire a contractor to do some of the work, but the actual design is all your own. Map out where you want your home spa to be located and you will only be steps from taking a spa day at any moment.

Select Your Home Spa Essentials

When you go to the spa, you get to pick the package or treatment you want from a vast menu. Pedicure chairs await, where you can soak your feet and get a massage. Estheticians work to improve the look and feel of their client's skin, while professional masseuses work all of the kinks out of your body to leave you feeling like a new person.  When you install a home spa, you are able to create your own menu of treatment options to partake in within your own house. Consider the things that you like to do at the spa the most, then create a way to replicate that experience.

Have Preferred Bath Salts, Massage Oils, and Skin Treatments on Hand

Once you have a jacuzzi, soaking tub, massage tables, and sauna installed, you will need various supplies to be able to give yourself home spa treatments. Bath salts and rose water can be added to your soaking tub or jacuzzi to soften your skin, alleviate aches and pains, and lull you into a sense of complete relaxation. Massages generally require lotions and oils, so choose ones that you enjoy the smell of. If you plan on giving yourself a facial, peel, or other skin care treatment, then try to buy those supplies in bulk. With these supplies in hand, you can treat yourself to any type of spa treatment you want, right at home.

It's All About the Linens

While you normally relax at the spa, normally you would wear a super soft, fluffy robe, dry off with luxurious towels, and have access to all of the premium linens you could get your hands on. Start off by getting yourself a couple of nice robes and matching slipper sets. A terrycloth hairband can also be purchased to complete the effect at home. Having some high-quality bath and hand towels will also enable you to give yourself a spa treatment whenever you want, without having to wait for the next load of laundry to get finished.

If you have the space, you can have an actual spa installed within your home, to spec. Choose a backyard area to have a sauna installed, or bring in a couple of massage tables and hire a professional masseuse. Spa days should be completely leisurely and relaxing, which is why the best place to enjoy them is in your home environment. Don't forget to add on all of the decorations like essential oil diffusers, indoor fountains, and windchimes to create a space that makes all of your worries just melt away.
