How to Market Your Product or Service on TikTok

How to Use TikTok for Marketing Purposes

TikTok has gone viral and is now the default app for people who are looking for video entertainment, Companies like vulkan vegas, businesses, and marketers use the platform to drive traffic, sales, and conversions. There are three main ways by which you can use TikTok for marketing. These are:

  • Advertising

  • Content

  • Influencer marketing

In this article, we will show you how to use the three. In the end, you can choose which approach is the best one to use for your company.

1. Advertising

The first and most straightforward method of using TikTok for marketing is advertising on the platform. It is easy to set up an account — all you need is a credit card, and you should be able to set up a business account and an ad account.

There are two main ways to pay for your ads. The first \is to deposit money into TikTok and then use that for your advertising expenses. The second one is adding a credit card and then letting the ad run for a specific period or until you stop it.

One thing you need to know about TikTok is that you cannot target all demographics. You can only show your ads to a specific region, and that region is where your TikTok account belongs to. So, if your TikTok business account is registered in the Asian region, you cannot advertise your product in the USA, the UK, Canada, Europe, etc.

Why is this happening? TikTok is a controversial app because it is owned by the Chinese. There is too much politics going on, so a lot of countries do not want TikTok to advertise if the advertiser is from a different region.

The way to go about this is to ask someone to create an ad account for you specific to the country or region you are targeting. Once that account is ready, you can log in from your location, add a credit card, and publish ads.

2. Content

TikTok is like YouTube. You can publish content for your company and build credibility. It will take time, that is for sure, but you will get free traffic, and you do not have to spend so much on ads anymore. If you get a massive following, you can expect people to share your content. The more shares you get, the more conversions you are likely to make.

The best types of TikTok content you can make are:

  • Challenges;

  • Videos related to viral hashtags;

  • Product usage;

  • Videos that show results of product usage.

How does this work? If your product is gym equipment, then you must ensure that you have content that shows people a muscular person using that equipment. You can also create regular content that shows tips on how to be healthy.

As time passes, you will have a massive following, provided that the content you publish is valuable to the viewers. This can be expensive at first, as you may need models to do the video. However, in the long run, you will realize that it is cheaper compared to running ads.

3. Influencer Marketing

The last method on how to use TikTok for marketing is working with an influencer. An influencer is someone who has a massive following. Be wary of fake bloggers out there!

A fake influencer has a massive following but really does not offer any value to the followers. It is highly likely that this person “bought” the followers.

These fake influencers have accounts whose content is mostly promotion. They do not have a niche — they do not produce content that provides any entertainment or lessons to their viewers. Avoid this type of “influencer” at all costs.

The influencer you want is someone who creates valuable content — someone who has credibility and whose followers are legit. You can easily tell this if TikToker is an actual person creating content to serve a particular niche.

It is always better to contact bloggers directly instead of looking for one in a marketplace. Most of these marketplaces have “influencers” who really have no influence. It is why they need a marketplace to find clients. You see, TikTokers who have real fans do not need marketplaces — clients will come after them and seek their business.

TikTok has a different demographic compared to Facebook and other apps. There are more people underage people on TikTok, and these users do not have credit cards. So, if sales conversion is what you are looking for, then you must ensure that you do not target this age bracket.

However, if your goal is branding and awareness, then by all means, target everyone. Just ensure that you are delivering the right message. In addition, you must also make it a point that the influencer you work with is the right fit for your branding or image.
