Becoming a landlord can be a great way to supplement your income. You can earn a good income as a landlord if you have the right property or properties. However, if your properties are ever left unoccupied for an extended period of time, you will lose that revenue, and if you have a mortgage on the property, it will be considerably more difficult to maintain it without someone paying you rent to live there.

Not only will this make it easier to attract new tenants after the existing ones depart, but it will also allow you to keep your current tenants for a longer period of time. This is the first thing prospective tenants would see, and if it isn't well-kept or appealing, you may not get as many people in to see the house as you would if it looked much better.

 

Take the time to clean up the yard and clear the way to the front door. You also might repaint the front door and make any necessary repairs.
