Different ways to bet on the Super Bowl - online betting is now legal in New York

The Super Bowl 2023 is not too far away, but as  Christmas is just around the corner, it’s highly likely that you’re spending more time thinking about the perfect Christmas gift than about the Super Bowl. However, with sports betting having become legal at the state level from the beginning of 2022, New Yorkers can now bet legally and easily on any sports.

So, if you enjoy football, or if you’re looking to add a little extra excitement to the biggest game of the year, it can be a good idea to be prepared ahead of time by learning the different ways to bet during the tournament using some good Super Bowl predictions. In this text we’re going to share some of the different ways you can bet on the Super Bowl, and how the different methods differ from each other.

Picking a winner

This is the simplest way to bet on the Super Bowl - or any sporting event for that matter - and it’s extremely straight forward. Simply pick the team that you think is going to hoist the Lombardi Trophy after four quarters. If the team you picked wins, your bet pays out and vice versa if they lose.

Parlays

Parlays are a form of betting that has become extremely popular in recent years mainly in the USA, and it is being offered in other parts of the world as well. Parlays are more complex bets that take a little longer to put together and require a deeper level of analysis. These bets are built up of different things that can happen during a game and then packaged together to deliver better odds to the player.

A parlay might look something like the following example - remember we do not know the teams that are going to be playing in the Super Bowl, so we are merely using an example: The Bills win against the Eagles. There are more than 8 touchdowns in total during the game. Jalen Hurts throws for more than 200 yards. The eagles make at least one interception. The Bills scored less than 4 touchdowns.

Betting on the performance of an individual player

By betting on the performance of an individual player, you are making your wager based on how a specific player will perform during the game. The most popular alternatives to bet on in this category are offensive players such as receivers, running backs and quarterbacks.

If you’ve never tried betting before

As we mentioned previously, betting has only been legal in New York for little less than a year and it’s not strange if you feel a little out of your depth to start with. If you’ve never tried your hand at betting on sports previously, it would be wise to do a trial run of how everything works. Regardless of whether you’re watching the game at home or at a bar, a bet can be a fun way of adding some extra excitement. Remember to always gamble responsibly.
