The summer can be a whirlwind of food, socialising, and drinking with friends during the long days and nights. When you are socialising in the sun, you must be cautious of your activities and health to ensure you are staying healthy and protecting your body, especially if you live in a climate where temperatures soar in the summer.

Drink More Water

As the temperatures rise, so does the amount of water our bodies need too. Increasing your water intake when the weather is warmer will help you to avoid dehydration and lethargy, meaning you are ready and able to meet all of your commitments this summer.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen should be used all year round, even when you don't think there is any sun. But even more so when the mercury rises. Sun damage to the skin is a genuine problem, and aside from the immediate sunburn and pain this can cause, the long term effect of sun damage can be extra wrinkles, dark spots and even skin cancer. At a minimum, you should be wearing SPF30 on exposed skin.

Eat Better

It is never too late to improve your diet but even more so when your diary is packed and you have endless social engagements or commitments in your time. Increasing the amount of fruit and vegetables you eat and swapping out unhealthy snacks will help your body do what it needs to do with ease day after day.

Regular appointments can help you to know when to get a physical exam and if you need to make any changes to your lifestyle before any health concerns become an issue.
