As part of this year’s SPRING / BREAK Art Show, Wednesday Sept 8 through 13, 2020, artist Paula Crown will be installing a 7-foot tall ‘Chalice’ on Madison Avenue to highlight the connection between consumption, belief systems and climate change.
Answering the call for this year’s theme, HEARSAY / HERESY the golden vessel mimics a religious reverence and our instinct to seek out a higher meaning, but most importantly asks its viewers how they will choose to address the mounting climate crisis.
SPRING / BREAK Art show is located at 625 Madison Avenue between 58th and 59th Streets.
Concurrently, Crown’s digital interactive piece Emanare will be exhibiting in Rockefeller Center throughout September. Emanare encourages visitors, both in-person and virtually, to send messages of positive intention emanating into the world (using a QR Code) in a prayer-wheel inspired piece meant to create community in this trying time. Let me know if you’d like more information on this piece.
