RENOVATED BROOKLYN GALLERY LAUNCHES A NEW PERFORMANCE SERIES WITH JAZZ ART SONG. The Soapbox Gallery series opens with mezzo-soprano, Clara Osowski performing Jeremy Walker’s jazz song cycle, HAUNTED BLUE.
After a recent renovation, and the addition of a Yamaha C7 grand piano, Soapbox Gallery will offer music, theater, lectures, films and works of art that engage current issues from artists around the world. This new era of presenting kicks off with mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski and composer/jazz pianist Jeremy Walker performing the jazz song cycle Haunted Blue which highlights poetry by Walt Whitman, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Minneapolis writer Greg Foley.

ABOUT THE SPACE
Owner, sculptor and longtime Brooklyn resident Jimmy Greenfield has renovated Soapbox Gallery with the community in mind, “the room itself is now a beautiful, meditative environment for artists and activists—designed with state-of-the art acoustics to showcase exceptional musicianship from around the world.”
The room offers: a Yamaha C7 grand piano and Yamaha custom drum kit, two wall-mounted video cameras and the ability to live-stream; a movie screen; a Mackie 16-channel mixer, overhead stereo mics for room recording; plus a kitchenette, two restrooms (one wheelchair accessible), and adjustable lighting. Tickets to events in the gallery can now be sold in advance through Brown Paper Tickets.
