Event Description: Artist duo Steven and William Ladd – The Ladd Brothers – will be at East Hampton’s Longhouse Reserve to debut their newest artwork and first-ever outdoor sculpture. Right Here, Right Now is a large bridge-like structure (32’ x 8’ x 12’) with facades constructed out of disks of cedar branches collected from the artists’ country property in Germantown, NY. LongHouse Reserve will host a Members Preview on Thursday, April 21st (from 12pm – 4pm) and Friday, April 22nd (from 10am – 1pm), with Steven and William Ladd, joined by their parents who are participating, on-site to install the structure. Members are welcome to join in and be part of the process. This is an exclusive opportunity to get an inside look at the installation process and meet the artists. On Saturday, April 30th, from 12:30pm – 5pm, Steven and William Ladd will join LongHouse Reserve for the annual Rites of Spring celebration. Visitors are invited see the artwork, as well as to see other new works, by Moko Fukuyama and Alexander Polzin, and the returning favorites, including works by Buckminster Fuller, Yoko Ono, Ai Wei Wei, Sol Lewitt, and Willem de Kooning. The garden will be blooming with spring flowers – nearly a million daffodils plus cherry trees, tulips, and magnolias, and many new works of art throughout the garden. Rites of Spring is open to members for free and to visitors for $15, $10 for seniors, with no charge for veterans or active-duty personnel. LongHouse is always free for anyone 18 and under and to College Students with a valid Student ID. On Saturday, April 30th, from 5 – 7pm, visitors are invited to join Steven and William Ladd in conversation, moderated by LongHouse Reserve Director Carrie Rebora Barratt. This will be the first of many talks this season at LongHouse Reserve with artists, designers, and architects, including with Marren Hassinger, Alexander Polzin, Glenn Adamson and Lee H. Skolnick.
