Details: Join L’Alliance New York’s (formerly FIAF) annual Bastille Day celebration, the largest Bastille Day event outside of France, happening this Sunday, July 14th on Madison Avenue from 59th to 63rd Street in Manhattan. See below for the media alert – this year’s celebration is on track to be the biggest ever, expected to draw over 25,000 people. The theme is the 2024 Paris Olympics, with 45+ stations, booths and sponsors that highlight the games, making the celebration New York’s precursor to the Parisian festivities.
L’Alliance New York’s Bastille Day is a cross section of French fashion, culture, film, food, and fun, bringing the best of French culture to New York. Highlights include:
Photographer JR’s Inside Out photo booth, “Faces of the French-Speaking World” (Les visages de la Francophonie), which will begin it’s US Tour at L’Alliance’s Bastille Day by inviting New Yorkers to have their photo taken and pasted as a poster on Madison Avenue
Annual champagne tasting hosted by L’Alliance New York
Soccer games hosted by Asphalt Green
Pétanque courts run by Carreau Club
Various games hosted by L’Alliance’s own language center
President, the official sponsor of the 2024 Olympics, hosting Paris-themed activities. Some family friendly booths include TV5Monde’s face painter and kids’ activities, and Mustela x Mon Coeur.
The foods offered reflect some of the most exciting parts of New York’s French food culture, with vendors including beloved eateries and boulangeries such as Angelina Paris, Café d’Avignon, Paul Crée, Mille-Feuille Bakery, Crêpe Suzette de France, Home Frite, Julien Boulangerie and more attending.
