Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Announces New Appointments to Board of Directors


Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade is pleased to announce new appointments to the organization’s Board of Directors. 

Longtime Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade supporter Andy Stuart, who is currently an advisor and board member serving a number of companies inside and outside of the travel industry, has been named chair of the Club’s Board of Directors. He will serve in the position for a two-year term. Immediately prior to being named chair, Stuart served on the Executive Committee.  

From 1988 – 2019 Stuart was employed with Norwegian Cruise Line most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, he was responsible for ensuring that Norwegian exceled in every facet and that the company produced industry leading financial results, while bringing new ideas and ways of doing business that improved guest satisfaction and team member involvement. A 30-year company veteran, Stuart was instrumental in building the Norwegian brand and strengthening relationships with travel partners.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Stuart has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bournemouth University. He previously served as Chairman of the Cruise Lines International Association.

Stuart resides in Pinecrest with his wife Allison. The Stuarts have been significant supporters of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade for many years.

“I am honored to serve as chair of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Board of Directors,” said Andy Stuart. “Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade is very dear to me, and I am proud to have supported and been a part of this wonderful organization for many years alongside my wife Allison. I look forward to working with the Club to continue to raise much needed funds for the Club’s many positive programs, supporting the Capital Campaign to completely rebuild the Northwest Club into a state-of-the-art facility and expanding the new sixth Club to continue making a difference in the lives of our area youth for generations to come.”

Additionally, Lynda Gordon has been named Executive Board Member and seven new members have been appointed to the Board of Directors including:

  • Karen Rodriguez – Director of Operations, Doral Automotive Group

  • Kristina Perez-Cubas – Controller, Doral Automotive Group

  • Allison Stuart – Philanthropist

  • Carlos Diaz-Granados – Territory General Manager, Coca Cola Beverages Florida

  • Frank Enriquez – Partner, Tasco Plumbing

  • Richard Rodriguez, CPA – Partner and Habitational Practice Leader, USI Insurance Services

In February 2023, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade announced its expansion and is now operating a sixth Club at Dr. Frederica S. Wilson Skyway Elementary School, located at 4555 NW 206th Terrace, Miami Gardens, FL 33055. The Dr. Frederica S. Wilson Skyway Elementary School Club, which serves approximately 100 children from the local area, is now accepting new youth members. The Dr. Frederica S. Wilson Skyway Elementary School Club aims to introduce tennis and golf to underserved populations and foster a love for the sport to all demographics and has begun its second phase of construction of tennis courts and a miniature golf course on campus with support from Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. 

Additionally, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade is raising funds for its Capital Campaign to completely rebuild and renovate its Northwest Club into a state-of-the-art facility for generations to come. Located at 10915 NW 14 Avenue Miami, FL 33167, the Northwest Club opened its doors in 1953 and today it serves predominately African American children from lower income families. Boys & Girls of Miami-Dade’s plan, which is already planned, is to completely rebuild the 11-acre campus including demolition of the existing 1950s building to build a new 25,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility featuring a learning center, STEM and computer lab, teen center and recreational areas, and the complete refurbishment of its existing fields and gym. The total cost of the project is $13 million, and construction is expected to begin in 2023.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade offers many positive programs at its six Clubs, including its mentoring, educational after-school programs, homework assistance and tutoring, computer training, social skills, dance, arts and crafts and summer and athletic programs, for area youth who need them the most.
