What We Are Drinking This Week

Happy Wine Wednesday to all who observe. We’re thrilled to share with you what we are drinking this week celebrating the beginning of Summer. Let’s commence, Cheers!

Rum reinvented, KLYR Rum (SRP: $27) is changing the way we look at (and taste) the category. Distilled 12 times, filtered 18 times, gluten and sugar-free: KLYR’s 25-year-old Master Distiller Lexi Close has created the go-to spirit for summer drinking by focusing on purity first. KLYR makes the perfect low-calorie base for any cocktail–be it a Mule, Martini, or Margarita. In fact, the best summer cocktails are usually as simple to make as they are refreshing and delicious.

But let’s be Klyr (pun intended) here, while these libations come together in no time, they do not sacrifice on flavor. Especially when using America’s newest and smoothest rum as the base.

KLYR Soda

With temperatures starting to rise, it feels like this Summer season will be a hot one! The Disaronno Velvet Batida combines the refreshing flavor of coconut with the richness of a velvety cream from Disaronno Velvet and is the perfect cocktail to beat the heat this summer. For those unfamiliar, Disaronno Velvet is the newest addition to Disaronno and at 17% ABV, it boasts the floral character of almonds found in Disaronno Originale with nuances of chocolate and vanilla.

Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Pinot Noir is easily identifiable by its signature wax-dipped bottle and elegant script label, making it the perfect wine to celebrate dad this Father’s Day. Fifth-generation Napa Valley winemaker Joe Wagner learned his way around a vineyard long before he was able to drink wine. Inspired by his grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner, Joe created Belle Glos with a focus on vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs from California’s best coastal regions. Each Vineyard Designate is crafted to distill the purest essence of the locale into elegant expressions of California Pinot Noir. The Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Pinot Noir is deep ruby red in color with scarlet highlights, and opens with bountiful aromas of red fruits, laced with clove, cedar, and holiday baking spices. Bold and complex flavors of crushed ripe cherry, cranberry and blueberry pie linger on the palate through the warm and structured finish.

Rhum J.M Blanc displays the raw power of what is regarded as the best terroir on the island. Oily lime zest and anise balance out a chalky earthiness on the palate. The perfect rhum for a ti'punch or daiquiri.

Hospitality industry expert Steve Turk, founder of Turk Hospitality Ventures and creator of The Hospitality Mentor Podcast, is excited to announce the launch of Biscayne Coffee.
