Mamey, by Food & Wine’s Best New Chef 2020, Niven Patel, will have its very own Noche Buena celebration this December 24 from 5-9 p.m.
Located inside THesis Hotel, Mamey is inspired by Chef Patel’s travels throughout Asia, French Polynesia and the Caribbean. The restaurant showcases the exotic flavors and spices commonly found in the islands. Mamey’s seasonal offerings are complemented by fun, innovative cocktails that will transport you to the tropics.
Noche Buena, meaning ‘the Good Night,’ is a Spanish word referring to the night of Christmas Eve. For many Latin American cultures, Noche Buena is often the biggest meal of the holiday season and brings together friends and family.
The Noche Buena celebration will feature menu items a la carte ($75/person) and include a specialized menu.
Appetizers will include tuna tostones and yuca fritas. The main course options are banana leaf steamed hogfish, sofrito, coriander, and coconut rice; 'Lechon asado' braised and shredded suckling pig, fufu de platano, and papaya salad; or mojo Pork belly (same set) a la carte. Dessert will consist of key Lime Flan, coconut crema, ginger crumble or quatro leches.
