The 11th annual Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club Day for the Kids Festival, taking place on Saturday, September 28th. Day For Kids Festival is a celebration to advocate for the youth of the Bronx and bring awareness to the life-changing work taking place throughout the year by the nonprofit organization. In conjunction with the Day For Kids festival, the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club will celebrate the life of NYPD Deputy Chief Steven Bonano with two memorial runs – Mr. Bonano was a Bronx-native and an alum of the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club.
2019 is the 50th Anniversary for the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club. To honor this historic anniversary, Kips Bay is collaborating with an organization called Hip Hop Blvd. whom will provide a free community Hip Hop concert during the Day For Kids Festival. A slew of fun games will be available for attendees, as well as a mix of food and drink from local vendors will be available to the community members of the Bronx. Headliners for the Hip Hop Blvd concert will include Micky Factz, DJ Negro, Special K, B.B.J., and host Kool Kyle.
