It's official, August 2 will be the Einstein Square Celebration Day at the former Rothman’s Department Store building at 54180 Main Road in Southold. At that time, the completely renovated and restored building, which is represented by Scott Bennett and Susan Romano of Douglas Elliman, will be unveiled and open to public view and visit during a 3 p.m. reception. Cool. 

The timing of the dedication is historically significant as 2019 represents the 100-year anniversary of Rothman’s Department Store and the 80th anniversary of the summer Albert Einstein spent in Southold when he and Mr. Rothman formed a legendary friendship. Einstein would later refer to this time as his “happiest summer ever.”
