Where To Celebrate The 4th Of July If You're Stuck In The City

We’re only a few days from Independence day but you may have already noticed a quietness in the city as Manhattanites head out East, Upstate, or off to Europe to celebrate our nation’s holiday. If you happen to be one of the few sticking it around in the city, don’t worry there are still a number of places where you catch a great meal and strong drink.

The Sentry - 626 1st Avenue

The Sentry at the American Copper Buildings (626 1st Avenue) will host an epic July 4th pool party with special guests Naughty By Nature and Kayex from 5pm-10pm. Ticketholders will have exclusive access to the best vantage point in the city to watch the fireworks from, an open bar with summer inspired cocktails, endless bites to eat and world class entertainment from Naughty By Nature and Kayex. One of our favorite brunch places around Due West will be offering a signature red white and blue cocktail for $10 on July 4th! The special cocktail consist of Worthy Park Rum Bar Overproof Rum, Banana Liqueur, Giffard Blue Curaçao, Lime Juice and Pomegranate/Hibiscus Juice.

Clinton Hall Williamsburg - 247 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211

Clinton Hall in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (247 Metropolitan Ave) will host a rooftop cookout from 2pm-8pm which includes a two hour open bar with rose and draft beers as well as one hour of food. Food choices include burgers, hot dogs, BBQ chopped chicken Sandwich, house-made BBQ potato chips and watermelon slices. The event is rain or shine and will be held indoors if it rains. Situated one block from the Hudson River and prime firework viewing, Yves will be serving a picnic-inspired meal to celebrate America’s birthday! Dive into the French Market Roast Chicken, available for one or two, served with select market sides, which will be paired with refreshing rosé for a delicious meal.

A Summer Day Café - 109 W Broadway, New York, NY 10013

If you are in The Big Apple for the 4th of July, visit A Summer Day Café for a staycation themed menu loaded with all of America’s favorites, from ribs and sliders to corn on the cob and fries! To top it all off, try the Smoke n’ Waves, A Summer Day Café’s newest dessert on the menu, which consists of a flavorful chocolate cake piped with delicious pink frosting. This menu will be available for lunch on July 4th as well as brunch on Saturday and Sunday of the holiday weekend.

Roof at Park South - 125 E. 27th St.

Roof at Park Southwill host a family-friendly rooftop cookout party from 3pm - 8pm on Thursday, July 4th. Enjoy city views and celebrate the holiday with rose-white-and-blue frozen cocktails, mini bottle service, burgers, ribs and fried mac and cheese bites in addition to other savory bar bites and an all-new over-proof Pina Colada. Pre-game before heading to Brooklyn for this year's fireworks or stay the night in NoMad at Roof at Park South, which boasts unobstructed 360 degree views of the Chrysler Building, the top of the Empire State Building, and the golden top of the New York Life Building putting you in the heart of it all.

Chef Saul Montiel and the team are bringing a July 4th BBQ to Manhattan for those celebrating in the city. Guests can dine on Cantina’s July 4 dinner specials (available from 4 PM – 11 PM) include $6 burgers, $3 hot dogs, $4 tacos and $12 buckets of 6 mini Pabst Blue Ribbon all while enjoying some of the best rooftop views of the Manhattan skyline. Cantina will be open for lunch from 11:30 AM – 3:-00 PM and dinner from 4 PM – 11 PM.
