What You Missed At This Years Pegasus World Cup 2018

The 2018 Pegasus World Cup was held this past weekend in Hallandale, Florida. The star of the show was Gun Runner, who two days prior was named Horse of the Year. This was his return to racing after he was denied entry into the races last year after sharing a stable with two other horses who were infected with a highly contagious virus. The five year old galloped his way to a $7 million grand prize for his owners, not bad for his final race.

The jockey who lead Gun Racer to victory was Florent Geroux certainly had quite a journey to the track. On December 24th the jockey’s father was in an accident that lead to him passing away five days later. Geroux has resided in the United States for 10 years and was in the process of being a citizen. His citizenship test was the day before the Pegasus World Cup, he passed.
