Top Beaches Right Outside NYC

While we may not all have a home in The Hamptons, that doesn't mean you can't find a beach of your own. We've compiled a list of our favorite nearby beaches that anyone can visit. The best part about them they are all just a short trip away, perfect for the day trip.

Riis Park Beech Bazaar

Located in Queens, This beach opens Memorial Day weekend and is open all summer long. There is plenty of ocean and sand to enjoy as well as fun events including live concerts, karaoke, campfires, and more. There are all sorts of foods and treats to enjoy while you’re at the beach. Vendors are lined up at the boardwalk for you to enjoy at all times of the day. The easiest way to get there is to take a shuttle from either Brooklyn or Manhattan. This is definitely a place to stop by if wanting to get out of the city.

Jones Beach

This massive 6-mile beach is located on Long Island. It is the perfect getaway for family and friends. Aside from the beach there is mini golf, basketball courts, and even a swimming pool. Jones Beach is also known to host various summer concerts at the Nikon Theatre including Dave Matthews, Zach Brown Band, and Rascal Flats. This beach will definitely provide endless amounts of memories and fun times.

Orchard Beach

Orchard Beach is Bronx’s only public beach, spanning 1.1 miles and 115 acres. It is known for its unique crescent shape and surreal views of City Island. The beach was created in 1930 and continues to be one of the most popular beaches in New York. Aside from the beach, they offer recreational activities as well as various concession stands with delicious foods and snacks.

Manhattan Beach

Manhattan Beach is located in Brooklyn, on the east end of the Brooklyn peninsula. Originally created in 1877 as a summer resort, it is now a popular destination of families wanting to enjoy a picnic or barbeque. There are tennis, handball, and basketball courts, as well as two baseball diamonds. There are also free movies in the park all summer long. Public transportation might be your best bet as parking costs around $20.
