Sidney is also the founder of the Sidney Kimmel Foundation, which has donated hundreds of millions to cancer research, established The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in his hometown of Philadelphia, and grew to prominence by founding fashion empire Jones New York, now Nine West Holdings.
