Fashion hacks: 4 ways to turn heads at your next party

As we all know, some people will take a day off work to prepare for an evening party. Others will throw on an outfit and be out of the door in record speeds.

Funnily enough, it's the second group which tend to grab the most headlines and frustration. They attract a lot of jealousy because they are able to get ready in super-fast timescales - and also look like something out of a movie as well.

It's this second group that we are also going to focus on today. We will now dive into some quick hacks that you can turn to in a bid to prep yourself to turn heads at your next party.

Sometimes it's about what you wear underneath

Believe it or not, it's not all about show-stopping dresses and the other statement pieces that tend to grab all of the headlines.

Sometimes, it's about what lies beneath. This time, we're referring to the bra and this is something that can make a monumental difference to your appearance. It doesn't require ironing, or any other preparation, yet buying the right type and size can make the world of difference to your posture and general silhouette.

Be wary about showing too much skin

We're all up for showing a little skin, but please notice the L-word here. It needs to be in moderation and particularly if you are getting ready in a rush, this is something that can slip under the net.

When you start to show much skin, you give people a lot of areas to look at. Ultimately, you are providing a lot of areas for things to go wrong - so keep things simple and try not to show excessive amounts of skin.

It's all about balance

If we were to deliver just one tip through today's article, it would be about balancing things out accordingly.

How can you achieve this? Well, pick a feature and show it off. In some cases, this might be your arms. If this is the case, by all means wear that daring sleeveless top, but at the same time add some wide trousers which can really balance out your overall appearance.

Stick to the basics when it comes to colours

Something that we are taught at school from a young age is about complementary colours. In other words, some colours just work a whole lot better with each other than others.

Bearing this in mind, try and implement this in your outfit. A lot of people try and keep things too simple by opting for a block colour, but this tends to have something of a dreary effect.

Instead, pick out your colour wheel, and find complementary shades that can be used together. Sure, some just won't suit your personal style, but if you can at least stick to this approach you'll find that more often than not things will just seem to fit a lot more naturally together, and you’re not relying on your sometimes-misguided intuition to help you along!
