Cinco de Mayo Drinks That You Won't Want To Miss

This Friday is Cinco de Mayo, and hopefully you already have your tequila on hand. Rather than go out with the masses hosting a party at home is always easier (plus more cost efficient) than risking it outside. Another benefit of making your own cocktails, you actually know what your putting into your drink.

Wether you prefer the traditional margarita or want to try somethng exotic this weekend, we’ve found some of the very best cocktails to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at home


Flecha Azul Frozen Watermelon Flecharita

  • 2 oz Flecha Azul Tequila Blanco

  • 1/2 oz Agave syrup

  • 1/2 oz Fresh lime juice

  • 2 Dashes of Angostura bitters

  • 1-2 handfuls of watermelon cubes

Add two handfuls of ice and watermelon cubes into a blender and blend until it's a chunky texture - do not over blend. Add remaining ingredients and give one or 2 quick blends. Pour into a rocks glass and garnish with a watermelon wedge.


Spicy Dot Martini!

  • 2 oz Codigo 1530 Artesanal Mezcal

  • .5 oz Licor 43

  • .5 oz Ancho Reyes Verde

  • 2 dashes fire water tincture

  • Garnish with Calabrian Chili Oil

All ingredients are combine and shaken. Served in a tiki mug. Garnished with Mint, a lemon wheel, and a tiki umbrella. 


Fiero Margarita

  • 1.5 oz Patron Silver

  • .75 oz Martini & Rossi Fiero

  • .75 oz fresh lime juice

  • .5 oz simple syrup (1:1) 

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into rocks glass with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel, and salt rim optional.


Mexican Martini

  • 2.5 oz Volcan de mi Tierra Tequila Cristalino

  • 1.5 oz orange liqueur

  • 1.5 oz lime juice

  • 1.5 oz olive brine from the olive jar

    Shake the ingredients in a shaker full of ice, strain into a martini glass and spritz with the orange zest. Garnish with olives and an optional lime wedge.


The Original Margarita 

  • 1 oz Cointreau 

  • 2 oz Blanco Tequila 

  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice 

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and add ice.Shake and strain into a salt-rimmed rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

  • 1-ounce Stoli Chamoy

  • 1-ounce Cenote Reposado

  • .75-ounce Real Mango Puree

  • .75-ounce Lime Juice

Shake until chilled. Pour into rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with Tamarind/Chamoy powder Straw


Picante Margarita

  • 2 parts Milagro Silver

  • 1 part Fresh lime juice

  • ¾ part Agave nectar 

  • ¼ part Tabasco hot sauce (3-4 dashes) 

  • 3 slices of cucumber 

First muddle 2 cucumber slices in shaker before adding any other ingredients. Then add the rest of ingredients with fresh ice and give it a shake for 5-10 seconds next strain and pour into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with the remaining cucumber wheel and enjoy the brighter side of tequila with Milagro.

Cierto Margarita

  • 2 oz Cierto Tequila Private Collection Blanco 

  • 1 oz Citrus Stock

  • 1 oz Lime Juice

  • ⅓ oz Citrus Agave Tincture

  • 3 drops Saline

Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake with ice until chilled. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with lime slices.
