A Look At The Serhant Team’s Seaport District Duplex

Along the cobblestone streets of the Seaport District, many historical buildings line the area . While some have been preserved to house museums dedicated to the history of the surrounding area, others have been redone to serve different purposes in tune to modern life in the city. One such example is at 130 Beekman Street.

While the building itself originated as far back as 1798, its interior was recently given a complete gut renovation, to transform it into a modern palatial duplex. But its historical longevity still makes the building feel right in sync with the other preserved structures in the vicinity. Among its two floors and 3,232 square feet of space is a mix of classic features and modern housing sensibilities. An elevator takes you to the main entrance on the second floor, which houses two bedrooms, living room, and kitchen.

A large dining room/living room makes the duplex into a perfect locale for personal gatherings and the five massive windows in the apartment make it so that the house is bathed in natural light throughout the day. The kitchen is impressive for both its appearance and usefulness. Aside from marble tops provided by Calacatta Paonazzetto, it also comes with a full set of stainless steel kitchen appliances. Inside the exposed brick master bedroom is a wood burning fireplace that was originally built with the house, further augmenting its historical roots. In addition, the room also includes a massive walk in closet. The bottom floor features the remaining three bedrooms, which could either be used as such, or be reconfigured for other uses like a media room.

As far as other features in the building go, an in unit washer and dryer set is included, as well as a private storage center.  But even after covering the basics of what’s in the condo, an equally large number of attractive features from the neighborhood as a whole. There is a very wide array of transportation options in the area, the main one being the massive Fulton Center subway complex that services the 2,3,4,5,A,C,J, & Z lines.

And being that it is in the middle of the historic Seaport District, countless restaurants and bars are available within walking distance, including the newly reconstructed Pier 17 at South Street Seaport. For the more active type, both the East River Esplanade and Hudson River Park are within walking distance of the duplex, providing a long stretch of space that’s perfect for jogging or biking. Overall, this duplex is perfect for those who are looking for a place that both has quick transit and easy access to a wide variety of nightlife on either side of Manhattan.
