A Look At Pierre Yovanovitch-Designed PH Collection At Bjarke's The XI

HFZ Capital Groupunveiled The XI’s West Tower Penthouses, envisioned by renowned French interior architect Pierre Yovanovitch. In line with the visionary spirit that gave rise to The XI, for the first time ever, Pierre Yovanovitch brings his artistry to residential condominiums. The result is nine unprecedented Penthouses, each a singular work of art. Crowning the tallest tower in West Chelsea at nearly 400 feet, the Penthouses on levels 32 to 36 offer stunning 360-degree views of Manhattan, from the Statue of Liberty to the Hudson River and Empire State Building.

Yovanovitch, known as a forward-thinking tastemaker who blends haute couture and high art with vintage furnishings to create dynamic interiors with amazing warmth, beauty and subtlety, was drawn to The XI due to the development’s visionary team and close proximity to the Hudson River and High Line. Yovanovitch’s dedication to the use of authentic materials of wood, stone, marble, and metal in his designs complements the project’s focus on natural materials.

“Depending on the time of day, the sun’s rays will catch the surfaces they strike differently, further defining the variety and depth of shapes, materials and colors in the space,” said Yovanovitch. Pierre’s mastery of volume and proportions served as a guiding thread for the layout of each Penthouse, transforming the traditional straight-lined structural format into harmonious interiors that balance comfort and modernity, complementing the wellness-focused lifestyle valued by Six Senses.

“A strong connection with nature has been at the forefront of our mission with The XI. We wanted to offer residents a calming retreat in the middle of New York City that allows one to get lost in the serenity of the Hudson River and High Line views,” said Ziel Feldman, Chairman and Founder of HFZ Capital Group.

Central to Yovanovitch’s practice, is his collaborative work with international artists and luminairies, such as Tadashi Kawamata, Felice Varini, and Pieter Vermeersch to create site-specific works. At The XI, Yovanovitch was able to continue this tradition, working alongside other industry innovators and following the artistic energy of West Chelsea.
