Cocktails You'll Want To Have On National Tequila Day

After cinco de mayo some people can be tequila’d out and switch over to wine for the Summer, but who doesn’t love a refreshing cocktail to cool themselves off during this hott Summer heat. To celebrate National Tequila Day, this July 24th, we’ve scoured for the best and innovative tequila based drinks that not only taste good, but will be perfect for the gram.

Sayulvita Sunrise

  • 1.5 oz 21 Seeds Valencia Orange Tequila

  • 2 oz pineapple juice

  • 1 oz pomegranate juice

  • 2 oz club soda

Place pomegranate juice at bottom of wine glass. Fill glass with ice. Slowly pour in club soda, followed by tequila, and finally pineapple juice. Garnish with wedge of fresh pineapple or round slice of orange.


Love and Lust

  • 1.5 oz Patrón Silver

  • 2 oz Fresh watermelon juice

  • 15 oz Fresh lime

  • 4 Fresh basil leaves

  • Fresh black pepper drops

  • Fresh black pepper drops

  • Watermelon slice for garnish

  • Simple Syrup to taste

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a double old fashioned glass. Garnish with a watermelon slice.


Sweet Heat Margarita

  • 2 oz Tanteo® Jalapeño Tequila

  • 1 oz fresh lime juice

  • ½ oz Agave nectar

  • 4-5 muddled raspberries

Muddle raspberries and combine other ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well and double strain


The Cool

  • 1oz 1800 Silver

  • .5 oz Cucumber Juice

  • .5 oz lemon juice

  • .25 oz simple syrup

    In a mixing tin, combine all ingredients, add ice, shake for 10 seconds. Pour into flute glass, top with champagne. Garnish with a long cucumber peel.


Tequila Old Fashioned

  • 2oz Casamigos Añejo

  • .25oz Simple

  • 3 Dash’s of Orange Bitters

  • 2 Dash’s of Angostura Bitters

  • Orange Twist

    Combine ingredients, shake and add the orange twist.


Tropic Mendez

  • 1.5 oz Partida Reposado

  • .5 oz fresh lime juice

  • 1.5 oz pineapple juice

  • .25 oz simple syrup

  • 1 pinch of Salt

  • 2 dashes of celery bitters

  • Top with tonic water

    Add all ingredients to shaker. Shake and pour into sling glass over ice. Top with tonic water. Garnish with dehydrated pineapple chips, dehydrated lime and Tajin dust.


Sparkling Margarita

  • 3 oz. Chandon Brut to top

  • 1 ½ oz Volcan Tequila Blanco

  • 1 oz Freshly squeezed lime juice

  • ½ oz Agave Syrup

  • Salt for rim

    Shake ingredients and pour in a glass rimmed with salt. Top with Chandon. Garnish with a lime slice.

  • 2 oz Volcan de mi Tierra Blanco

  • .75 oz Lime Juice

  • .75 oz Grapefruit Szechuan Oleo Saccharum

  • Soda

    Add ingredients to tin, shake/strain, top with soda, garnish with a lime wheel and a pinch of Tajin


Blood Orange Spritzer

  • 1.5 oz. JAJA Reposado

  • 2 oz. Blood Orange puree

  • ½ oz. fresh lime juice

  • Fill to the top with seltzer water

Mix blood orange puree, JAJA Reposado, and lime juice; pour over ice in a highball glass and fill with seltzer water to taste. Slide an orange round into the drink, or top with a small lime wedge!
