Chinese New Year
During Lunar New Year, otherwise known as Chinese New Year, New York goes all out with festive events and dinners offering traditional dancing and performances. It’s a chance to feast on Chinese delicacies, attend events where you can experience more of what the country has to offer and watch the parade that weaves its way through Chinatown and Little Italy- complete with shimmying dragons and martial artists no less. The whole family can party in Sara D Roosevelt Park for the continued festivities, including an epic fireworks display and performances featuring, dancers dressed as the Chinese zodiac’s 12 animals.
Tribeca Film Festival
The Tribeca Film Festival is a prominent film festival held in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan, which showcases a diverse selection of independent films. The two-week festival has grown exponentially since it first started in 2002, originally as a response to the September 11th terrorist attacks. It now spans a large part of Lower Manhattan. The festival has become a recognised outlet for independent filmmakers in all genres to get their work seen by a broad audience.
Panorama NYC Festival
One of the biggest music festivals in the city, Panorama is held on Randall's Island in New York City and is presented by Goldenvoice. Unfortunately the event is on hiatus this year, but if you’re visiting in 2020 it will be back on the card, and a chance to enjoy some of the worlds most famous music talent. Music festivals are what summer is all about, just be careful of the noise levels- you can prevent tinnitus by keeping away from the biggest speakers at the front of the stage.
New York Vegandale
Veganism is more than just a trend, it’s a lifestyle change many people have made in response to climate change, animal cruelty and much more. If you’re a vegan and want to celebrate the great choices you’re making as well as meet others like you, or are just dabbling with the idea of going meat and dairy free then Vegandale is one to consider. With music, games and a ton of vegan food vendors it’s a great day out for all the family.
New York Pride

New York City Pride March is an event celebrating the LGBTQ community; it is one of the largest annual Pride marches in the world, attracting tens of thousands of participants and millions of sidewalk spectators each June.
