242 Broome at Essex Crossing Sells Out

Douglas Elliman Development Marketing announced that 242 Broome is 100 percent sold. Taconic Partners served as Lead Developer at 242 Broome, part of the first phase of the Lower East side luxury residential development known as Essex Crossing, which was co-developed by Delancey Street Associates, comprising Taconic Partners, L+M Development Partners, BFC Partners, the Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group and the Prusik Group. Built by Triton Construction with architecture by SHoP Architects and interiors by DXA studio, 242 Broome has 44 residential condominiums with gross sales totaling over $110 million. Ariel Tirosh and Team of Douglas Elliman exclusively handled the sales.

“As the first luxury condominium to be completed, it is a testament to the quality of the design, inherent value and the continued interest in this vibrant Lower East side neighborhood,” said Charles R. Bendit, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Taconic Partners.

Residences range from one-to-three bedrooms that feature open kitchens all with 7” wide-plank white oak floors, 10’ ceilings, primary baths with Bianco Alanur honed marble floors and wet walls and a washer and dryer in each home. There are also three penthouse residences, each with access to its own private rooftop terrace.

“Working with the esteemed, proven and capable partner that is Taconic has been an absolute pleasure and I look forward to future collaborations,” said Susan de França, President and CEO of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.

“We are proud to have achieved this milestone of 100 percent sold sales at 242 Broome especially during a challenging year such as 2020,” said Ariel Tirosh. “The project is the finest of the many condo projects we have sold in the neighborhood and the completion of sales marks a milestone not only to Essex Crossing but for the entire Lower East Side.”

Amenities of the building include a 24-hour doorman/concierge and building manager, Technogym fitness center, entertainment lounge with kitchen, dining, and billiards, rooftop terrace with outdoor dining, residential storage units and bicycle room. All residents of 242 Broome have received a complimentary membership to the International Center of Photography, the world’s leading institution dedicated to photography and visual culture, located just steps away.

242 Broome was the first opportunity to own at Essex Crossing, a collection of over 1,000 residences, 400,000 square feet of office space and 80,000 square feet of retail spaces over nine sites that enhance the culture and unique flavor of New York City’s Lower East Side. At the center of the expansive development is a 150,000 square foot marketplace, The Market Line, which stretches for three city blocks, making it one of the largest marketplaces in the world.
